GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Michigan Department of Corrections announced Tuesday that they'll be shutting the doors on the Pugsley Correctional Facility in Grand Traverse County. "We're seeing fewer men come to prison, and we are seeing more people leave and not come back," said DOC spokesperson Chris Gautz. The plan is start to slowly transition each prisoner into other facilities around the state in the coming months. The facility is the job site for 230 employees and the department says they are the biggest concern. Read More. |
