| Salvos launch shuttle service to Holtze prison after visitors left stranded without public transport |

Now, almost two years after the opening of Darwin's Holtze prison, the Kafkaesque monument is finally being used with the establishment of a Salvation Army shuttle bus service. The charity launched its private transport service to Holtze on the weekend after the NT Government refused to fund a public bus service to the isolated correctional precinct. The $1 billion prison opened in 2014 with bus stops but no bus service. Using the new "Salvos Shuttle" on Tuesday was Jess and her toddler Dakota, who had left home before 7:00am that day to catch two buses and a taxi to the shuttle departure point in Anula at 9:45am.
