| DOC's Riley first in the nation to certify for cellphone detection |

Last week, history was made in Enid. Oklahoma Department of Corrections K-9 Riley and handler Sgt. John Burnett became the first dog and handler duo in the nation to certify in cellphone detection May 25 through National Police Canine Association. Riley, who was a stray, was donated to the department. Seven other dogs with the DOC’s K-9 unit, and their handlers, also were certified as narcotics dogs. NPCA is a nonprofit association dedicated to the training, development and certification of law enforcement K-9 teams and their administrations. NPCA offers nationally accepted certifications.
