| Former state corrections officer pleads guilty to bribe receiving |

Chad Lindner, 28, of Silver Creek pleaded guilty Thursday to bribe receiving while working as a state corrections officer at the state’s Collins Correctional Facility. Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Flaherty said Lindner faces a prison term of up to seven years when State Supreme Court Justice Penny M. Wolfgang sentences him for his plea to third-degree bribe receiving Aug. 9. Last November Lindner agreed to take $200 to sneak a cell phone into the prison for an inmate from North Collins. Investigators for the State Department of Corrections learned of the deal and began surveillance until they found Lindner picking up the bribe money in North Collins from the inmate’s girlfriend late last November. Lindner was immediately arrested after the bribe was passed and forced to resign from his state job to get a plea. Read More. |
