| Harrison Co. murderer tries to escape from jail |

LEAKESVILLE, MS (WLOX) - A man serving a life sentence for a Harrison County murder tried to escape from the South Mississippi Correctional Institution near Leakesville Saturday night. But Joshua Teague was caught before making it off the grounds. Mississippi Department of Corrections Commissioner Marshal Fisher said Teague and Jeremy Ogle were back in custody within 30 minutes after leaving their housing unit. "They had escaped their single cells, dropped to the ground using a homemade cane and knotted sheets, and walked toward Unit 8," said Fisher. An officer spotted the two men, still dressed in their prison clothes, around the same time another officer noticed something amiss about the men's cells while conducting the usual 10 p.m. security count.
