| Inmate dies after being found unresponsive at Newton prison |

NEWTON, Ia. — The Iowa Corrections Department says an inmate died last week after being found unresponsive in a recreation yard at Newton Correctional Facility. The department says prison personnel tried to revive 51-year-old Dennis Brown on Thursday evening. He was pronounced dead later at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. An autopsy and toxicology tests have been ordered, but the cause of death is believed to be coronary artery disease. Read More. |
