PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Clark County inmate accused of switching identities with another inmate and escaping from jail was arrested in Illinois, deputies said. Michael Dionate Johnson, 30, escaped from Clark County Jail the same day the inmate he switched identities with was scheduled for release. The U.S. Marshals Service located and arrested Johnson after a multi-agency investigation into the case, Clark County Sheriff’s Office said. “I’m extremely grateful to the federal and local law enforcement officers, both here and in Illinois, who worked so hard to locate and apprehend Johnson,” Clark County Sheriff Chuck Atkins said in a press release.
