Monroe Co. Inmates Dies From Ruptured Aortic Aneurysm

(BLOOMINGTON) - According to an autopsy report 19-year-old Clinton Gilkie, a Monroe County inmate, died from a ruptured aortic aneurysm, Tuesday.

Gilkie, of Bloomington, was arrested as a juvenile in September 2014 and was facing a felony charge of armed robbery. He was to appear in court on Monday to plead guilty in a negotiated plea deal.

Sheriff Brad Swain says, Gilkie, collapsed in the shower area of the jail's recovery dorm Tuesday night. He also suffered from pre-existing medical conditions.
