| Warrants: Inmate brings cocaine and marijuana into jail |

ASHEVILLE - Officers say a man booked in the Buncombe County jail Friday morning brought 3.3 grams of crack cocaine and marijuana onto jail property. Tyshawn Shamar Johnson, 28, of Asheville, was arrested after authorities had an order out for his arrest charging him with one felony count of possession of a stolen motor vehicle, according to documents at the Buncombe County Magistrate's Office. When officers arrested Johnson around 3 a.m. they charged him with additional offenses after they discovered that he possessed controlled substances on jail premises, according to arrest warrants. He was charged with possession of cocaine, two counts of possessing controlled substances on prison or jail premises and simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance. Read More. |
