ANCHORAGE, Alaska - More than a handful of people have walked away from multiple halfway houses across the state. Three of the inmates walked away from the Parkview Center in downtown Anchorage, another from Cordova Center, Glenwood Center, and the Genesis Recovery Center.

We talked with the spokesperson for the Anchorage Police Department, Jennifer Castro, who says they noticed a large uptick in the months of March and April, but are seeing a lot this month as well.

Castro says when someone leaves a halfway house it’s quite a process for police.
