YAKIMA, Wash. -- Police are looking for a 25-year-old convicted murderer who went missing Sunday when he was supposed to be at work while on release from the state’s Ahtanum View Work Release facility in the West Valley. Jake Lee Eakin, who was one of the state’s youngest defendants ever tried as an adult for murder, had just three months remaining on his sentence, according to the Washington State Department of Corrections. In 2005, Eakin was 14 years old when he was convicted of second-degree murder for the death of 13-year-old Craig Sorger in Ephrata two years earlier. Read More. |
