| Greenfield is mourning the loss of a 21 year old corrections officer |

GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – It was a solemn day in Greenfield as people gathered to pay tribute to Jacob Garmalo. A memorial mass was held today for the 21 year old corrections officer at Holy Trinity Church in Greenfield. Garmalo’s family and friends were there along with local area law enforcement and members of the franklin county sheriff’s department. Garmalo was a correctional officer at the Franklin County House of Correction. He died when his motorcycle crashed into a car a block away from the Franklin county Jail.
