| Inmate escapes from work release in Alex City |

A man convicted of robbery escaped from Alex City Work Release Center in Tallapoosa County on Thursday, authorities said in a statement. Authorities believe Robert Anthony Frye, 52, escaped around 5:50 p.m. wearing blue jeans, T-shirt and a white baseball cap. He was serving a 15-year sentence. Frye is 5'10" and weighs 190 pounds.
