OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) -- From the outside, looking in, the Lincoln Correctional Facility looks more than secure, but it is clear the system has failed. The escapee of two inmates has left the community with a sense of distrust, and that's exactly what why Nebraska officials say there is an outside investigation underway. "Now at the state, our attention turns towards how the correction system failed, and how we go about rebuilding the faith with the public and how we can better protect Nebraskans. The investigation has already been launched and it's clear that procedures and protocols were not followed by those working,” said Gov. Pete Ricketts.
