ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – After searching for about 12 hours, the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department said deputies found the escaped inmate Wednesday night at a home in Mountainair. Officials say 48-year-old Larry Dohrn killed himself prior to law enforcement’s arrival. SWAT deputies found him deceased with a self-inflicted gunshot wound after arriving on scene. “Obviously there was intelligence and interviews going on throughout the day and that’s what led us to the East Mountain-area residence,” said Sheriff Manuel Gonzales. KRQE captured video as SWAT surrounded the home and used flash bangs before moving in. MDC spokesperson Nataura Powdrell-Moore said Dohrn escaped around 8 a.m. Wednesday when he kicked out the back right window of the transport bus on 6th street near I-40. An MDC officer tried to chase him down but couldn’t catch him. That’s when Dohrn is accused of stealing an SUV belonging to medical transport company based in Gallup. Read More. |
