| Cheshire County corrections staff votes to unionize |

Cheshire County corrections officers recently voted to unionize. They will be represented by the Manchester-based Teamsters Local 633. “These men and women chose a difficult vocation and deserve the respect and support of the county which we will ensure through collective bargaining,” David W. Laughton, the union’s principal officer/secretary treasurer, said in a news release. The June 22 vote was 19-9, with three officers not casting votes, according to Teamsters Local 633 Joint Council 10 organizer Roger Travers.
