| Seventy-five inmates recognized for participating in college program |

CRANSTON, R.I. -- Nearly 75 incarcerated men and women were recognized for their participation in College Unbound’s Prison Bridge Program, which educates those in prison so that they will have a productive transition into society. College Unbound was founded by the Met School's Dennis Littky in 2009, recruiting first-generation college students from across the country. In 2015, it shifted focus and began concentrating on adult learners. College Unbound’s Prison Bridge Program also began in 2015. There is no cost to the student while incarcerated but students are charged $10,000 in tuition after they are released. The Prison Bridge Program began a year ago, and there are no graduates yet.
