Medical examiner rules death of inmate a homicide

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Mississippi Department of Corrections is investigating the weekend death of an inmate at Central Mississippi Correctional Facility in Rankin County.

Rankin County Coroner David Ruth confirms that the medical examiner has ruled the inmate's death a homicide. The MDOC criminal investigations division is investigating this inmate death.

The preliminary results of an autopsy indicated that 29-year-old Michael D. Riddle was the victim of foul play.
