| Lockdown conditions partially lifted at 6 Georgia prisons |

FORSYTH, Ga. (AP) - Corrections officials in Georgia have partially lifted lockdown conditions in six of eight prisons that faced the restrictions after numerous instances of violence related to gang tensions. The Georgia Department of Corrections said in a news release that visitation was reinstated and restricted movement allowed at three prisons starting last Thursday. An additional three prisons were to be put on restricted movement beginning Tuesday. The six prisons where lockdown was partially lifted are: Autry, Calhoun, Ware, Hancock, Macon and Valdosta state prisons. Read More. |
