| Crow Wing County Board: Board appoints corrections advisory board members |

A new advisory board met Thursday after its members were officially appointed by the Crow Wing County Board. Ten people were appointed to the Crow Wing County Community Corrections Board, each representing a specific group as required by statute. State law requires an advisory board for those counties administering probation through the Community Corrections Act. The board must consist of a representative from law enforcement, prosecution, the judiciary, education, corrections, ethnic minorities, social services and the lay citizen. The formation of the advisory board was first approved by the county board in February as part of the county's process of shifting its probation administration from a joint powers organization with neighboring Aitkin and Morrison counties to its internal community services department.
