| Rock County officials grapple with where to send violent youths |

JANESVILLE—The crime was violent. A 15-year-old boy from Milton punched the young woman in the face, pushed her to the ground and took her iPod, police said. The woman, a visitor to the area, had been jogging along the river in Janesville on May 1. Her injuries were minor. Case closed, but not for county juvenile authorities, who had to decide what to do with the boy. In the past, he might have been sent to Lincoln Hills School, the state's juvenile prison for boys in Irma, about 25 miles north of Wausau. Read More. |
