JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- Janesville police officers have arrested a man on several tentative felony charges who was already wanted by the Department of Corrections. On Monday, July 18th, Officer Severson was on patrol when he pulled into a public parking around around 6:45 p.m. near Rockport Park Drive off Afton Road. The officer saw a male exit a vehicle and recognized him as Trevor C. Michaels, 25, who was wanted by the Department of Corrections on a warrant. Janesville police say Officer Severson went up to Michaels, who at first denied who he was. The Janesville Police Department says Michaels then took off running, but the officer deployed his K9 partner, Fred, who ran after Michaels, catching him and knocking him down in a wooded area.
