SCRANTON — Cpl. Nick Wilk stood stone-faced at the lectern and placed his hands calmly on its wooden edges. The veteran corrections officer’s face didn’t flinch behind a thick, red beard and square jaw, but his eyes revealed sorrow as he spoke the name of his colleague, Luzerne County Corrections Officer Kristopher Moules, who died last week following a tussle with an inmate. Lt. John Domaguer, also a corrections officer at Luzerne County Correctional Facility, placed a single rose on a chair, Moules’ photo displayed on top of it at Sunday’s memorial for fallen police and corrections officers on Lackawanna County Courthouse Square downtown.
