| Corrections career fair held for veterans in Gainesville |

GAINESVILLE, Fla -- Veterans and their spouses in North Central Florida are finding work at Florida prison facilities. The Department of Defense's Hero2Hired program partnered with CareerSource of North Central Florida and the Department of Corrections to hold a hiring event Thursday morning. Kirk Guillotte, the program's case manager said the Department of Corrections has a large turnover rate, and there is an immediate need for 1,500 positions across the state. "They need to hire probably 4000 people within the next 12 months. People are retiring and it's a large organization," Guillotte said. Read More. |
