MONTGOMERY – The Alabama Department of Corrections has a nearly half million dollar contract with an engineering and architecture firm to study the state’s aging prisons. Information gathered could be used to make the case for new, larger facilities. Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood, Inc. in Montgomery is doing a statewide audit of ADOC buildings and their suitability in supporting current bed capacity, according to a description of the contract on the Legislative Contract Review Committee’s Thursday agenda.
