LINCOLN, Neb. (Nebraska Dept. of Corrections Press Release) - Two Nebraska Department of Correctional Services staff members were assaulted over the weekend. One incident occurred at the Nebraska State Penitentiary in Lincoln on Saturday and the other happened at the Nebraska Correctional Youth Facility in Omaha on Sunday. A caseworker at the state pen was punched in the head and torso by an inmate in a general population housing unit. A lieutenant at the youth facility was bitten on the hand while trying to remove restraints from an inmate. Read More. |
