| DOC partners with Army to recruit more correctional officers |

OKLAHOMA CITY —Prisons within Oklahoma are understaffed and it can create dangerous situations, according to officials with the Department of Corrections. On Tuesday, the Oklahoma Department of Corrections signed an agreement with the U.S. Army in hopes of recruiting Army veterans to fill some of their vacancies. The agreement allows the DOC to become a member of the Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS) program. “The partnership will allow us to interview recruits and hire military personnel,” said Joe Allbaugh, director of the Department of Corrections.
