| Inmate killed while working on highway near Troy |

TROY — Authorities say an Alabama Department of Corrections inmate has died after being hit by a vehicle while working along a roadside near Troy. Media outlets report state troopers say Steven Edward Martin, 34, of Warrior was killed Monday afternoon when he was struck by a pickup truck on U.S. Highway 231 in Pike County, around five miles south of Troy. Pike County Coroner Jerry Williams says Martin was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was not hurt. Read More. |
