| Polygraphs used on sex offenders released from prison as part of treatment program |

From July 1, 2015, to June 30 of this year, 1,468 polygraphs were conducted on sex offenders under the supervision of Kansas Department of Corrections. Purpose The polygraphs, which are administered to those released on parole in six-month increments, are utilized to determine if offenders are being truthful with their parole officers, said Kansas Department of Corrections spokesman Adam Pfannenstiel. Parolees may be asked if they have had inappropriate sexual contact or contact with minors. Those convicted of sex offenses may also undergo a polygraph test while in prison that focuses on their sexual history, Pfannenstiel said. Read More. |
