ST. GABRIEL, LA (WAFB) - The Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women is being evacuated because of concern about potential flooding. The evacuation involves nearly 1,200 female inmates. The prison is located in St. Gabriel and floodwaters are approaching the area. The Department of Corrections says, for safety concerns, they will not say where the prisoners are being relocated to until the process is complete. Read More. |
