| Arkansas inmate dies, found unconscious in cell |

A state prison inmate serving a 10-year sentence for theft of property died shortly after being found unresponsive Tuesday, according to the Arkansas Department of Correction. Grady Demery, 32, was found about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday in his cell at the Grimes Unit in Jackson County, department spokesman Solomon Graves said in a statement. Demery was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later. Graves said Demery was alone when he was found unresponsive.
