An inmate at Clinton County Jail has been charged with assaulting an officer there.

Lamel Foster, 29, of Brooklyn was charged at 3:15 p.m. Sunday with second-degree assault, a felony.

The arrest followed an investigation of an incident that occurred in the jail on Monday, Aug. 8, the Sheriff's Office said in a news release.
