An inmate at Clinton County Jail has been charged with assaulting an officer there. Lamel Foster, 29, of Brooklyn was charged at 3:15 p.m. Sunday with second-degree assault, a felony. The arrest followed an investigation of an incident that occurred in the jail on Monday, Aug. 8, the Sheriff's Office said in a news release. On that day, Foster allegedly "assaulted and caused injury to a sworn member of the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office’s Corrections Division," the release said. The officer suffered a head injury, Maj. Michael Reid told the Press-Republican on Monday, and was treated that day at Vermont Health Network, Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital and released. Read More. |
