LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services says three people were treated for possible smoke inhalation from a fire that broke out in a cell at the Lincoln Correctional Center shortly after 10:00 last night. Battalion Chief Jim Bopp of the Lincoln Fire Department told the Omaha World-Herald the fire was out by 11:00, but neither Chief Bopp nor prison officials gave any details about the fire itself, including how it started. A statement from the corrections department says all inmates in the affected unit were evacuated with 2 inmates and one staffer treated for possible smoke inhalation a precaution, but gave no other details.
