UPPER MARLBORO, MD — An inmate who had been at the Prince George's County Department of Corrections for just a few days died at the facility Wednesday night, and authorities are attributing the death to natural causes. Medical staff at the detention center "responded to a medical signal and found the detainee unresponsive and without a pulse," according to a statement from the facility. Emergency personnel repeatedly attempted CPR on the 43-year-old man, who was not identified in the statement. When paramedics arrived, they continued attempts to resuscitate him, but were unable to regain a pulse. The medical examiner has preliminarily ruled the death as due to natural causes, but a full autopsy will be performed in Baltimore. Read More. |
