| Michigan corrections officer stabbed in attack by inmate |

LANSING, Mich. (AP) — An official says a corrections officer was stabbed and another suffered scrapes in an attack by an inmate at a prison in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The Detroit Free Press reports the stabbing happened Tuesday at Marquette Branch Prison. Department of Corrections spokesman Chris Gautz says the officer who was stabbed had superficial puncture wounds in the arm and head. Gautz says the other officer, who responded and helped to restrain the inmate inside a housing unit, was injured. Both officers were treated and released. Read More. |
