| Knapp gets out of prison on temporary release program |

ALBANY – After spending a year and a half in state prison on his grand larceny guilty plea, former Beekman town comptroller Fred Knapp is now a continuous temporary release program. Knapp pled guilty to stealing roughly $500,000 from Beekman while he worked for the town. According to the State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, he will continue to be an inmate, but will be in the community on a daily basis during which time he will be under the jurisdiction of the Division of Parole.
