An Alabama prison officer died Friday after being attacked and stabbed by an inmate earlier in the month. Kenneth Bettis, 44, died at the University of South Alabama Hospital in Mobile late Friday afternoon, the Alabama Department of Corrections told AL.com. Bettis was stabbed on Sept. 1 by an inmate at the William C. Holman Correctional Facility after he denied inmate Cleveland Cunningham an extra tray of food in the dining hall. Read More. |
