A month after losing its chief of police, the District is losing the head of its Department of Corrections. Thomas N. Faust, who was appointed director of the agency in 2011, said Tuesday that he will retire in November. Faust, an Arlington County native and former Arlington sheriff, will “relocate to the west coast to focus on family and personal priorities,” according to a statement from the department.
