| Inmate accused of assaulting 2 Upstate NY corrections officers |

ROMULUS, N.Y. -- Two state corrections officers were taken to Cayuga Medical Center following an attack inside Five Points Correctional Facility last week, union officials said. Inmate Albert Woods, 43, is accused of punching one of the corrections officers after he was suspected of passing items to another inmate Wednesday, according to a news release from the New York State Correctional Officers & Police Benevolent Association. "The officer approached inmate Woods and ordered him to the wall so he could be frisked for contraband," union spokesman James Miller said in the news release. Read More. |
