| 2 inmates accused of assaulting corrections staff member with homemade weapons |

LINCOLN, Neb. —A Nebraska Department of Correction Service staff member was assaulted by two inmates Wednesday, authorities said. Officials said the two inmates used homemade weapons to strike the staff member multiple times. Chemical agents were used to stop the assault and gain control of the inmates. The staff member was taken to a local medical facility for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury and was later released. Read More. |
