| Inmate injured after police van rear-ended in Pinellas Park |

A police transport van was rear-ended Monday night in Pinellas Park, injuring a prisoner who was handcuffed in the back, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's office. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. as G4S security officer Eric Lawson, 42, was transporting Luis Santiago, 39, to the Pinellas County Jail. According to deputies, Lawson pulled up to a red light in the center lane on northbound 49th Street N, at the intersection of 62nd Avenue N, when he was struck from behind by a 2014 Toyota Tundra pickup truck driven by Windell Green, 40, of St. Petersburg.
