| Benton County Sheriff's Office Using Inmate Labor |

BENTON CO., Ark. -- A northwest Arkansas sheriffs office has put their inmates to work to save in an effort to save tax dollars. The Benton County Sheriff's Office work release program nearly doubled recently after the Benton County Quorum Court approved a new position over the program. Inmates can be seen throughout the county doing a number of odd jobs. "Carpentry, flooring, or just normal lawn care maintenance and these guys possess those skills," said Sgt. Greg Stevenson. The inmate work is not limited. Monday they helped a local church clean up their cemetery. Also some washed cars and did oil changes at the sheriff's office. Read More. |
