Amite County, MS - Authorities throughout the state are searching for an inmate who escaped Saturday evening from a county jail. Mississippi Department of Corrections say they believe Michael Wayne Young, 42, escaped from Amite County Jail around 5 p.m. Young was convicted in Franklin County, MS on two charges -- a felon in possession of a weapon and a previous escape charge.
