An inmate escaped from the Webb County (Texas) jail March, only to be caught a few hours later. Twenty-five-year-old Eric Roberto Gonzalez-Ramos was reportedly working in the Gally area of the jail around 10:00 a.m., where merchandise is delivered and unloaded. Even though officers were monitoring the area, Gonzalez was somehow able to get away. Officials with the sheriff's department say Gonzalez was in jail on minor assault charges and a violation of probation order. Gonzalez was apprehended in the Azteca neighborhood around 3:30 p.m. He now faces felony charges for escaping and could face an additional 5-to-20 years behind bars. |
