| Community Services Center streamlining corrections, court services |

There’s no other facility like it in Kansas. That’s how Katrina Pollett, executive director of the Finney County Department of Corrections, described the new Finney County Community Services Center after Tuesday’s ribbon cutting for the facility. The building actually opened in late July. “We’re the only ones like this in Kansas where we have state parole, court services, and adult and juvenile corrections all in one building,” Pollett said. “This facility was built so that we could bring a one-stop shop to the families who need our services.” When somebody breaks the law, sometimes it’s not just that person who has an issue, Pollett said. It could be that the family needs counseling, for example. That’s where it’s advantageous to have all of the services under one roof. Read More. |
