| Inmate stabs corrections officer in Bessemer |

MONTGOMERY — An inmate has stabbed a corrections officer at a state prison in Bessemer. The Alabama Department of Corrections says the stabbing happened early Wednesday morning at William E. Donaldson Correctional Facility. The officer was searching an inmate’s cell when he was assaulted with a makeshift knife. The officer’s injuries are not life-threatening. He was treated at a nearby hospital for a head wound and defensive injuries to his hands. Read More. |
