A state prison inmate has been indicted in federal court on charges of assaulting two U.S. marshals in the federal courthouse, in downtown Pittsburgh, Pa. Andre L. Jacobs, 22, formerly of Harrisburg, Pa., is accused of assaulting the marshals on March 3 as they were trying to return him to a holding cell on the second floor. Prosecutors said Jacobs was in the courthouse as a plaintiff in a civil rights lawsuit he brought against the state prison in Fayette County, where he is housed. After a trial before U.S. District Judge Joy Flowers Conti, according to the indictment, he resisted and fought with the marshals before they and other officers subdued him. |
