TRENTON — Two hundred new state corrections officers from 19 New Jersey counties were sworn in Thursday during a ceremony at Patriots Theater at the War Memorial in Trenton. And 29 officers are from Essex County. DOC Commissioner Gary M. Lanigan led the officers in taking their oath, and greeted each after they received their certificates. The new officers, who have completed their academy training, include 23 who have served in the military and 59 that have college degrees. Read More. |
