SALEM, Ore. – A member of a white supremacist gang was sentenced to death after a jury unanimously found him guilty of aggravated murder for stabbing another Marion County Correctional Facility inmate to death back in 2013. On June 4, 2013, David Ray Bartol used a shank to stab fellow inmate Gavin Siscel while he was watching television. Reports say the 45-year-old Bartol was awaiting trial for a robbery while Siscel was serving a 30-day sentence for contempt of court. His trial didn't start until October 2016. After a two-week trial and a unanimous decision of Bartol's guilt, the trial moved to the penalty phase. Jury members had the option of sentencing him to death, life without parole, or life with the possibility of parole after 30 years.
