DRAPER, Utah — Three maximum security inmates were hospitalized after suffering stab wounds at the Utah State Prison Tuesday afternoon. According to a news release from the Utah Department of Corrections, the incident occurred around 2 p.m. at the prison’s Uinta facility. Four inmates were involved in the fight, the news release said, and three of them required treatment at local hospitals. Medical staff at the prison determined the stabbing injuries required treatment off site, and two of the injured inmates were transported by ambulance. The third was transported by helicopter.
